Practicing with the camera

Okay, now to practice with the new camera and the blog.

Here's a picture of Dexter, our Golden Retriever. He's 11 years old, which shows. Will he miss us while we are gone? As long as some nice comes to pet sit, probably not?

And here's Toby the new kitten. He arrived at the library where I work on Open House night and come home to terrorize the dogs every since. Currently four months old, he and Dexter love each other. J.J. wanted to eat him at first, but they are settling into a annoying/tolerance relationship. Toby annoys, J.J. attempts to tolerate with periods of threatening him thrown in. I'm not too worried about the cat.

And here's J.J. the queen of the tribe. Our Newfie, named after Jane no less. J.J. is short of Joyful Jane. She'll (J.J. not Jane) will be 11 years old in March. An oldtimer like Dexter and likely to start pouting as soon as she sees the bags being packed. She won't get over it until we've been back home for a few days.

Well, that's the crew. And the camera works!

Three type A personalities begin planning

The trip is scheduled for May 2010, to celebrate all kinds of things. But we aren't spontaneous people, so planning is well underway. Actually we are getting our schedule down to the minute. Check back here, as we learn to use our new digital camera and netbook, save pennies for our trip and figure out just how much we can pack into 3 weeks and 3 days. I promise Bruce, I won't add on any more sites to see! So far the plan is for a week in Somerset, a week in the Lake District, and a week in London.
