Stonehenge and Salisbury

Wednesday, we went drove east through Somerset and into Wiltshire. We went to Stonehenge, which Jane and I loved, but Bruce thought was just a pile of rocks. Here's some images of Stonehenge. Amazing how they could have created it and told used it as a calendar by how the sunlight fell through the different openings at different times of year. It sits on a plain, with fields rolling out in all directions. The sheep and cows graze around it, somehow as ancient as the stones.

Then onto Salisbury to see the cathedral. A beautiful site. Our battery on the camera went dead, from Bruce taking so many pictures! Here's just a couple photos.

  1. Still jealous...
Stonehenge is something that I've been wanting to see since forever.
